The VIORE PLCD10V59 10.2 inch portable television allows you to enjoy TV programs and DVDs wherever you are. The 10.2 inch widescreen active matrix TFT screen delivers a bright, clear image and the built-in speakers give you stereo sound. I purchased my Viore 10" as a Christmas present to myself. The price was about the same as some of the portable DVD players that don't have TV tuners. I get good reception in the DTV (digital) mode in a non-metro area. The picture is great for a personal TV, but obviously not your first choice for a family TV. Set-up is a little tricky; you have to be in the correct mode and go to the menu for auto scanning. That should find your stations for you. If you don't get any stations make sure you are in the DTV mode and try repositioning the antenna. I recommend placing the antenna in a window that faces your strongest signals. There are websites that can provide the compass heading of your strongest TV stations if you don't have that information. I am totally pleased with the reception but have been mainly using the DVD player. It is similar to a DVD drive you would find in a laptop. I have not had any problems with the player, so far. Again, you have to be in the correct mode; the player will not open/eject unless you are in the DVD mode. The battery will easily get you through a two hour+ DVD movie. The "low battery" warning light gives you plenty time to plug in the charger or get to a stopping point in the movie. The charger will recharge the battery while you watch. Overall, I have been very impressed with the quality of Viore products. I purchased several of the 7" TVs as gifts which were well-received. Viore tech support is a different story. They are difficult to reach and not very helpful. They don't seem to answer emails at all.
UPDATE May 2010: After 5 months of fairly frequent use my Viore is still going strong. Mostly used for DVDs, but I've been pleased with the TV reception as well. "Fast forward" on the remote didn't work. I was eventually able to contact customer service and they set me a new remote (took a couple months). Final note: don't pay $350 (as advertised) for this TV. |

| I Love my little TV/ DVD player. It's compact and fits just right on top of my Tredmill, that's why I bought it. I Love it ,I Love it, what more can I say. And I'd Recommend it to my friends too. |

| I bought this portable tv, to have on my office desk, and take on trips. I love that you can pop in DVD as well. I think the pict. is excellent, have not gone on a trip yet, but I think it will be just what I wanted. Customer service is excellent. Called to get set up help and "no" problem at all. No wait. live person with all the answers! |

Like some others, inserting the battery into the remote and replacing the cover can be difficult, but once done I hope it will last for awhile. Also opening the DVD drawer was confusing, but once I realized that maybe the set should be in DVD mode first it worked well (a little noisy). I was able to scan in analog and digital cable, also both Hi def in antenna mode and cable mode. What a great deal, no matter what you hang on this set it will work well. I do feel the picture could be a mite clearer, but that may be because of the extremely clear picture that our main set delivers. All in all, once you muddle thru the manual and going thru a learning curve it is well worth its cost. Portability is fantastic again, threw the old analog portable in a pile of other useless stuff, never to be seen again!
I have been using this set for awhile now and I recommend that once you have the unit-EXPERIMENT-- with it. You cannot ruin it and with a few keystrokes on the remote the set can be returned to default settings and all is like new. This set has lots of nice features and I love it. Just three things can be improved on---1, tinny sound. The sound is clear and understandable but could use more lower frequencies. 2, flimsy feeling but quite usable remote. 3, DVD drawer seems like it doesn't fit well into case, but, again it does work well. This is an excellent device with many nice features one would expect only on more expensive units. |

| This was a Christmas present for my husband and I waited until the very, very last minute to order, because I could not decide whether to buy a 7" or 10" screen or which TV brand to buy. This TV order arrived right on schedule, in time for Christmas, and it was an excellent choice. It works perfect and has the highest quality picture we have ever seen in a small, portable TV. My husband likes it especially, because he can watch football and basketball and actually see the action. The antenna works well and in brings in most stations and more stations if we put the antenna up about 6 feet. With an attached antenna you have to move the whole TV around and watch the TV from odd angles, with this detached antenna you just move the antenna around, which it great. We could find nothing wrong with the TV or Amazon's service, everything is perfect. Thank you Amazon! |
